At Relax
Healthcare, we recognise that dignity is about more than just physical care—it
is about valuing each individual as a person, with their own unique needs,
preferences, and worth. Our approach to care is rooted in preserving and
promoting the dignity of every service user we support.
How We Promote Dignity:
Choice in Personal Care
Where assistance is required with personal tasks such as
dressing, bathing, or toileting, we will make every effort to ensure that
support is provided by a care worker of the service user’s choice—and, where
requested, of the preferred sex.
Support with Appearance and Presentation
Upon
request, we assist with dressing and clothing maintenance to help service users
feel comfortable and presentable. We also offer support with personal grooming,
including make-up, hairdressing, and manicure, so that individuals can express
themselves and maintain their desired appearance.
Reducing Vulnerability
We are
mindful of the emotional impact that disability or reduced independence can
have. Our care is delivered in a way that seeks to reduce any feelings of
vulnerability, inadequacy, or loss of self-esteem.
Respectful Interaction
We treat
every service user with respect, using their preferred name or form of address
and making introductions in line with their wishes. We remain sensitive to
individual cultural preferences and needs, and we foster relationships that are
both warm and respectful—professional yet personable.
At Relax
Healthcare, dignity is not simply a standard to meet; it is a value we live by
in every aspect of our care.
